Medical-Military Fascism and the Bio-Security State - A Lesson from History.
Today’s top story from Forbes carries the headline “France Will Reopen To Vaccinated Americans This Summer, Macron Says.”
This is just one of many similar stories being reported in the international mainstream media as covid hysteria continues to dominate our news feeds.
With growing unrest over the unlawful restrictions imposed on entire populations under the cover of a falsified health emergency, it’s no surprise to see many endorsing these measures as a way to get ‘back to normal’ as quickly as possible. However as I have argued many times, you can forget the idea that we are ever going back to normal - there simply is no normal to go back to. Just like the pre-1914 world of strong, independent European nation states, the pre-pandemic world is gone forever. Despite the courageous efforts of small business owners to carry on despite the wanton destruction of their lives and livelihoods, the only visible signs of economic life today are in property and financial markets, and it is these around which the new impact economy is to be built.
The fact that governments are now openly calling for health passports, not just for international travel, but as a condition for the restoration of basic freedoms, is a clear indicator of things to come. It should also send a chill down the spine of anyone vaguely familiar with recent history. Perhaps a brief recap will help to explain why this should never, ever be allowed to happen.
Rather than retell the whole story, let’s see what Wikipedia has to say about Nazi Eugenics.
The Law for Simplification of the Health System of July 1934 created Information Centers for Genetic and Racial Hygiene, as well as Health Offices. The law also described procedures for 'denunciation' and 'evaluation' of persons, who were then sent to a Genetic Health Court where sterilization was decided.
Information to determine who was considered 'genetically sick' was gathered from routine information supplied by people to doctor's offices and welfare departments. Standardized questionnaires had been designed by Nazi officials with the help of Dehomag (a subsidiary of IBM in the 1930s), so that the information could be encoded easily onto Hollerith punch cards for fast sorting and counting.
In Hamburg, doctors gave information into a Central Health Passport Archive (circa 1934), under something called the 'Health-Related Total Observation of Life'. This file was to contain reports from doctors, but also courts, insurance companies, sports clubs, the Hitler Youth, the military, the labor service, colleges, etc. Any institution that gave information would get information back in return. In 1940, the Reich Interior Ministry tried to impose a Hamburg-style system on the whole Reich.
I’m sure there is no need to recount what happened next.
Now before you invoke Godwin’s Law, I’d ask you to explain how today’s ‘health passports’ differ in spirit or in letter from those imposed under the German Reich? How does TB differ in this instance from coronavirus? How do IBM’s punch cards differ from Microsoft’s health wallet app? Whether the ultimate purpose of the proposed passport system is merely to lay the groundwork for the impact economy, or a means to segregate the ‘vaccine-hesitant’ (read: critical thinking) is of little consequence when these outcomes are far from mutually exclusive. Once accepted in principle, existing laws can always be widened in scope, and the difference between ‘anti-vaxxer’ and ‘domestic terrorist’, while obvious to anyone with two brain cells to rub together, can easily become non-existant in law.
TB was deeply enmeshed in Nazi ideology of racial purity and viewed as a marker of genetic inferiority. In Germany in the 1930s, people with TB were stigmatized, prohibited from marrying, forced to undergo sterilization, and eventually euthanized in the so-called “mercy-killings.” Once the war began, the Nazis used TB as a form of biological warfare. Nazi doctors euthanized TB sufferers throughout Germany and the eastern occupied lands or used TB as a convenient excuse to kill those they deemed “life unworthy of life,” such as the Jews, whether they actually had TB or not. They conducted torturous medical experiments on children and adults in ill-conceived attempts to find a TB vaccine or effective TB medications. The Nazi state also stimulated TB epidemics. Crowded living conditions in the ghettos and camps, poor sanitation, and near starvation diets contributed to the spread of the infectious disease. When the Allies liberated the camps in Germany and Austria at the end of the war, TB was the most serious infectious disease they faced. - Annette Finley-Croswhite, Alfred Munzer, Nazi Medicine, Tuberculosis, and Genocide
Does any of this sound familiar?
Perhaps the distinction could be made that we are comparing outright extermination with medical segregation, but even this line is quickly blurred when we look at occupied Palestine, where approximately 5 million living under Israeli military rule have been refused the dubious privilege of being vaccinated. This is occurring at the same time as “green passes” are being issued to fully vaccinated Israeli citizens, allowing access to facilities such as hotels, gyms and theatres.
Put simply, health passports set up the legal framework for apartheid. Amazing how one policy can tick so many boxes, isn’t it?
While the Nazi regime is painted in history as something uniquely horrific, this obfuscates its essential nature. Notions of racial purity may have helped to shape its ideology, but its methodology was very much the same authoritarian capitalism-on-steroids which we see today. The Nazi state used TB as a justification first for segregation, and later murder and genocide, targeting disease as a means to eradicate those it saw as its natural enemies. Why would we expect today’s Nazis to act any differently?
