I'm sure you'd love living in Russia. Putin'll take care of your every need so you're not burdened with being such a goddamn know-it-all cynic.

it is not cynical, it is the reality that is devastating, absurd, grotesque, terrible, beyond any thought and idea with which one tries to hold it together. It is a pleasure to read what he writes. And after all, Russia doesn't have to be that bad.

Donald Trump may be a hapless rube, but at least he's not a goddamn cynic. If "Russia doesn't have to be that bad" go live there and make it better.

Brilliant analysis Sean. Thanks for taking the time to pull together a coherent brief assessment and update. I wonder how they are going to drive the financial collapse. They driving inflation through the roof by withholding key supply items like computer chips. Next will be food. But to render the financial system into melt down will be interesting to see what method they utilise. I also wonder what strategies can be adopted to mitigate the effects of the ongoing war.

So, on the basis of your support for the "de-nazification" of Ukraine, let's invite Putin to invade the UK to purge our own far right problem, or invade the USA for that matter. Ukraine does for sure have a white supremacist far right problem, an angry and sometime violent minority, but the alliance of Ukranian far right parties won 2% of the national vote. Your argument could be used to justify the invasion of almost all countries in the western world.
